Coronation day. I vowed to make my way down to DC, either with my bike or without (you can take them on the Metroliner), to take part in some of the protests, my favorite being this one:

Watching some of the coverage, hoping I'll catch some asscheeks of my brothers and sisters in arms, or at least the "turn your back on Bush" protest. The cable news networks were quick to point out that Dubya woke up today and began his day by reading the Bible, as he does every single day. Funny, when I wake up, I read the fucking newspaper. I think that speaks to the fundamental problem with this administration. History will not look back kindly on this presidency, that I am sure of.

BTW, if it's not glaringly obvious, this inaugural gluttony is absolutely disgusting (I thought this was a time of war?). Anybody in attendance should be ashamed of themselves. Yes, this means you.

Meanwhile, the presidency is breaking tradition once again and asking DC to foot the bill, $12 million, for security, historically unprecedented.

In a city where Bush was voted against 9 to 1, this situation is analogous to the RNC being hosted in NYC. Basically a huge "fuck you" to the residents of these cities. If it weren't so goddamn cold out, it would have been met with similar resistance. Time to turn up the slactivism...
